Hello there! :)

I’m still here. Although I need to bring my blogging mojo back. (It’s been 5 months since my last post!) I’m having fun going places and currently looking forward to an awesome adventure in March. Meanwhile see you at my travel blog. :)

traveling and a start of something new

I’d like to think that it will be a start of something I’ll be doing frequently (given the time and money) in the future. Because I love to and it’s definitely one of my dreams. Traveling for me is one way of learning. I’m thankful for the trips I’ve had but of course I’m longing for more. And isn’t it grand to go to different places to discover something new?

I’m inspired by St. Augustine- “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

I know it’s impossible for me to travel the world but I’d be happy and contented to read only a few pages. And with that, I’d like to chronicle each of my small adventures through my almost 6-yr old blog. Meanwhile, this is my other personal blog. I’ve been meaning to separate my travelogues for quite sometime now so I’m happy to finally accomplish it.

I’m looking forward to more adventures soon. Meanwhile, I really hope I’d see you here as much as on the other side. :)

book haven

Everytime I’m exhausted from work or simply pissed, I go straight to my fave Booksale branch in the city and spend an hour or two. Hoping to find a gem of an author I like or whatever book that will caught my fancy, I take my time. Because from there, I get to relax, free my mind of anything negative.

Next to church, any bookstore is my kind of solace, my refuge to my not so good day or simply just wanted to be surrounded with books. I used to tell myself to refrain from hoarding books which I won’t be able to read yet. But the joy of having a book/s to bring at home is priceless. Not to mention the book itself is less than I can bargain for. Meaning… a steal for a low, low price! Now, it’s time to buy an additional big plastic bin. My books are starting to fill my small room. =D

collecting them all

I arranged my pile of books the other night while simultaneously encoding the list for any updates. And I found out that I was able to unconsciously start a collection I want to pursue, given the chance. You see, I usually buy books from Booksale because they’re cheap but of course availability is limited. Not to mention the happiness I feel everytime I found a book I like to read. Here are my little collections by author:

Anne Tyler
The Accidental Tourist; Earthly Possessions; A Patchwork Planet
Saint Maybe; Ladder of Years; Breathing Lessons

Craig Holden
Matala; The Narcissist’s Daughter; River Sorrow

Erich Segal
Love Story; Man, Woman and Child

Terry McMillan
A Day Late and A Dollar Short; Disappearing Acts
How Stella Got Her Groove Back; Waiting To Exhale
The Interruption of Everything

Michael Cunningham
The Home At The End Of The World; The Hours

Nicholas Evans
The Horse Whisperer; The Loop
The Smoke Jumper

Richard Bach
The Bridge Across Forever; Illusions; One

Pat Conroy
The Prince of Tides; Beach Music
South of Broad

Thomas Harris
Hannibal; Red Dragon

Another collection I want to start is the books with movie team up. And almost those like these books, I haven’t taken the time to read yet. Sad I know, it’s just that I still need to bring my reading mojo back. For now, I need to buy another big plastic storage bin because my room is starting to be filled with books and it looks messy. And hopefully, I’ll find more books written by the authors mentioned above at Booksale soon.
